Improv

I’ve been involved with the Pittsburgh improv scene since the summer of 2022. Most of the improv I have done is with Steel City Improv Theater (SCIT) and Arcade Comedy Theater.

Improvisation is a very important form of expression for me. It helps me connect with the community and share something of myself with the world. It resonates with me on a deep level; it is a way of working with people that I find deeply productive, motivating, and satisfying. This idea from musician Ben Opie captures how I feel about improvisation:

Improvisation is not just spontaneous actions. It is a reflection of the time, location, and circumstances that led to that moment. Broadly speaking, the sum total of your life leads to an improvised statement.

Coaching

I’ve been starting to learn how to coach improv. If you are looking for a improv coach, feel free to contact me.

Music

I like writing and playing (piano, guitar) music. Here’s a selection of some tracks I’ve worked on.

Writing

I’ve loved writing for as long as I remember. Lately this has manifested as writing sketch comedy, some samples of which can be found here, though I also enjoy writing poems and short stories.

Juggling

I’ve been an on-and-off member of the Carnegie Mellon Juggling Club, a.k.a. The Masters of Flying Objects, since around 2014. I enjoy numbers juggling and passing.
